Workspace Intelligence Maps Out the New Agentic Playbook for Work

In short, Google Workspace got even better at understanding how your daily work connects. It tracks the relationships between your projects, emails, and specific company data.
At the same time, Google is keeping a tight grip on privacy. Data processing stays locked to specific regions like the U.S. or E.U., and thanks to client-side encryption, you can block absolutely anyone, even Google’s own AI agents, from reading your files.
Turning Chat into a Command Center
The most interesting change is what’s happening with Google Chat. The new “Ask Gemini in Chat” feature basically turns your chat window into a command line for your entire workday.
You can instantly pull data from multiple apps, schedule meetings, hunt down lost files, and even plug directly into third-party tools like Asana and Salesforce, all without leaving the conversation. You no longer have to tab back and forth between a dozen apps because everything just comes directly to you.
Smarter Sheets, Docs & Slides
Google also made a massive jump in what you can build directly inside their core apps.
- In Sheets, you can now generate interactive dashboards or lightweight apps just by typing out what you want in plain English. You can even pull in live data from HubSpot or Salesforce without any complicated setup.
- Docs now creates data-driven infographics and lets you edit multiple images at once.
- Over in Slides, the AI can build a fully editable presentation in a single pass, and it actually follows your company’s brand templates, so you don’t have to spend hours fixing the formatting.
Finding Exactly What You Need
Searching for information just got significantly faster, too. Gmail introduced an AI Inbox that automatically prioritizes your most important messages, plus AI Overviews that give you deeper insights when you search through your emails.
In Drive, a new feature called Projects lets you group files and emails together in a much more structured way. This keeps you organized, and, more importantly, it gives your AI agents the exact context they need to do their jobs properly.
Everyday Upgrades Across the Board
There are also several updates that will make a huge difference in everyday tasks.
- Google Vids now supports custom, branded avatars in 24 different languages to make video communication easier.
- In Google Meet, the “Take Notes For Me” tool now works during in-person meetings and even across other platforms like Zoom.
- Chrome Enterprise gained a secure auto-browsing feature.
- If your team is currently migrating away from Microsoft 365, Google has built a new data import tool that makes the switch up to five times faster.
