Cisco has introduced a new product called the Spark Board, an interactive whiteboard designed for collaborating on projects.
Cisco Spark combines communication channels (chat, phone, and video) and content-sharing tools in one application. The application does not depend on devices and operating systems and operates on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms and a web client.
Integration with other applications uses open application programming interfaces (APIs) and bots. Many integrated apps include Box, Dropbox, GitHub, Google Drive, Jira, OneDrive, Salesforce Alerts, Twitter, SmartSheet, Splunk, and various translation tools and dictionaries.
The application received a different design style based on different user activities (activities). On the toolbar in the workspace, you can select the desired action – message, meeting, call, collaboration on an interactive whiteboard, file sharing, search for people.
The novelty will be offered in versions with 55- and 70-inch displays. The resolution in both cases will be 3840 × 2160 pixels, corresponding to the 4K format.
The panel allows us not only to make presentations but also to organize video conferences. Responsible for the corresponding functionality is a built-in camera with support for 4K format, speakers, and an array of 12 microphones.
The “heart” of the interactive whiteboard is an NVIDIA Jetson TX1 mini-computer. It includes a Tegra X1 processor, which contains four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores. The video subsystem uses the Maxwell architecture and has 256 stream processors.
